New Delhi: The brother of Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Ananth Brahmachari, who attempted suicide in a south-east Delhi guest house last week, has alleged harassment by National Investigating Agency(NIA) and moved the Delhi High Court seeking redressal.
Filing a petition through his lawyer Jitesh Vikram Srivastava, Brahmachari accused NIA of violating his fundamental rights and said "NIA is not following the rules and regulations framed by the Supreme Court for the purpose of interrogation."
Brahmachari, 28, alleged he was not allowed to accompany his counsels.
His lawyer said that being harassed by the investigating agency his client had consumed poison and was found unconscious in a guest house in Jangpura on January 5 this year.
He was taken to AIIMS and was discharged a day later.
He was "depressed" due to questioning by the NIA in connection with his sister`s alleged association in terrorist acts.
The petitioner also sought the court`s direction that he should be questioned near Gangotri where he lives and not in Delhi.
The petition will be listed soon before an appropriate bench for hearing.
Sadhvi Pragya Singh is accused of orchestrating the Malegaon blast of 2008, in which seven people were killed, and is currently awaiting trial along with others.
