New Delhi: A 40-year-old man, who was evading
police for the past 14 years in an abduction case by changing
his appearance and addresses frequently, was arrested here,
police said on Monday.

Vishal, an alleged member of Satbir Gujjar gang, was
apprehended from R K Puram yesterday, Chhaya Sharma, Deputy
Commissioner of Police (South), told reporters here.
Vishal along with his associates had abducted a
businessman from Punjabi Bagh in 1994 and was arrested in the
case. After getting bail in 1997, Vishal evaded police and
court proceedings and was declared a proclaimed offender.

In 2009, court sentenced all of them to life
imprisonment.
"After the verdict, Vishal thought he will also be
probably awarded the same punishment and as such he took every
possible precaution to evade his arrest. To avoid police, he
changed his appearance and addresses. However, he was arrested
yesterday," Sharma said.
