New Delhi: Controversial Hindutva leader Sadhvi Prachi on Monday hit out at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and questioned the motive behind supporting Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students' protest over Afzal Guru hanging.

In a scathing attack, Sadhvi Prachi slammed the Congress vice president for associating himself with alleged anti-national forces and also questioned the party for lending its support to recent protests by JNU students.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader, who arrived at JNU campus along with her supporters today, also accused Opposition parties of putting the blame for the ongoing JNU rage on her outfit.

Earlier today, BJP chief Amit Shah asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi a host of questions and also demanded that the latter issue an apology for his stand on the JNU issue.

ANI quoted Amit Shah as saying, "Support to anti-national forces in the name of the Left's progressive ideology will not be acceptable at any cost."

On February 12, JNU student union president Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested by Delhi Police and was booked on charges of sedition over a protest organised in the Jawaharlal Nehru campus against the hanging of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. A day later, Gandhi visited the JNU campus and met students who were demanding Kanhaiya's release.
