New Delhi: Five boys and a scrap dealer, who
allegedly recruited them to commit burglaries, were
apprehended in west Delhi with investigators recovering USD
1,100, jewellery worth around Rs 1.10 lakh and idols from
them, police said on Wednesday.
The five minors, all aged between 10 and 15 years old,
were apprehended from a DDA park in Janakpuri yesterday during
a patrolling of the area, V Renganathan, Deputy Commissioner
of Police (West), said.
The minors led the police to Satish, who allegedly
recruited them to commit burglaries. Satish, a
guard-turned-scrap dealer, was arrested.
"From the possession of minors, USD 1,100 (around Rs
50,000) and Rs 10,500 apart from jewellery articles worth
about Rs one lakh and many silver and bronze idols of
different deities," Renganathan said.
With their arrest, he said, three cases have been

through the bathroom window or through kitchen... Minors told
us they have committed house burglaries at about 10-12 places
in Janak Puri," Renganathan said.
"Satish acted as the gang leader and he paid the minors
very less. He earned huge profits," he said.
