New Delhi: In order to decongest the entry
to the Old Delhi station, a second gate has been made
operational.
The second entry from Zorawar Singh Marg to the Old
Delhi station is an additional facilities for passengers which
will help in decongesting the area, said Ashwani Lohani,
Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division.

The new gate has come with a parking facility for
commercial and private vehicles separately. Separate exit and
entrance lanes have been dedicated to each set of vehicles.
"The pathway connecting the Zorawar Singh entrance with
the platform has been completed alongwith re-numbering of the
platforms to bring about uniformity and passenger
accessibility," Lohani said.

The renovated entrance will help both the passengers as
well as the traders of Chandni Chowk. This will provide an
alternative route for travellers commuting from north, west
and northwest Delhi and also ease traffic on S.P. Mukherjee
Marg for traders and shoppers.

MCD has assured Northern Railway of removal of
encroachment and unauthorised parking on Zorawar Singh Marg to
provide smooth approach road to the second entry at Delhi
Junction.
