New Delhi: On a day of high drama involving
Public Accounts Committee (PAC), senior ministers like P
Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal and P K Bansal spent were present in
the Parliament premises where the activities were taking
place.

Some ministers had also reached out to SP and BSP ahead
of today`s meeting that ended in chaos with the UPA and the
Opposition making claims and counter-claims on the PAC
proceedings.

A section of the Congress, not part of the 21-member PAC,
also voiced unhappiness over the "failure" of party colleagues
in stopping the matters from coming to such a pass.

The PAC witnessed chaos after the UPA members, with the
support of those from BSP and SP, targeted Chairman M M Joshi
over his draft report on 2G scam that was sharply critical of
Prime Minister, his office and others.

Earlier, in the day, Chidambaram and Finance Minister
Pranab Mukherjee held confabulations with Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh soon after the meetings of Cabinet and Cabinet
Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) ended.
