New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday refused to allow the city BJP to stage a protest against Delhi government at Shahidi Park in ITO area, suggesting that party workers should assemble at Ramlila Maidan and proceed towards Jantar Mantar instead.
In its letter to BJP, police said they cannot give permission to take out protest march to the Prime Minister`s residence from Shahidi Park on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg as it was not the "proper place of gathering" and as it will cause inconvenience to public.
"Hence, it is advised that the assembly at Ramlila Maidan may march towards Jantar Mantar," the letter said.
