New Delhi: To help passengers identify the platform from which they have to board trains, the Delhi Metro will now install a special kind of directional signages at all Metro station junctions in the national capital.

DMRC spokesperson Anuj Dayal said the signages will be installed on the floor near AFC gates so that the commuters, while entering into the paid area of the station, can easily understand which side of the station they need to go to board the right train.

The signages, both in Hindi and English, will guide the passengers for a hassle-free movement towards the right platform/line.

More signages will be installed inside the station area.

At present, such signages are installed at Central Secretariat Metro station which is an interchange station for Line-2 (HUDA City Centre to Jahangirpuri) and Line-6 (Central Secretariat to Badarpur).

Gradually, such signages will be provided at other interchange stations like Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Inderlok and Yamuna Bank, Dayal said.

Interchange directional signages are quite popular in Tokyo Metro for its utility and passenger-friendliness and the Delhi Metro expects that it will help the passengers of the Delhi Metro a great deal, he said.
