New Delhi: A mild flutter was created in the
Lok Sabha on Thursday when External Affairs Minister S M Krishna
appeared absent minded and had to be prodded to make a
statement.

When Speaker Meira Kumar called him to make a statement on
the situation in Sri Lanka, Krishna was not in his seat and
was engaged in conversation with some members in the aisle.

As Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar immediately brought
to his attention the Spekaer`s direction, Krishna failed to
immediately find a copy of the statement in his file.

As a Lok Sabha Secretariat staff promptly provided him a
copy, he started reading out the statement.

But Speaker asked him to lay a copy on the table of the
House, which he did.

Some opposition members like BJP`s Shatrughan Sinha were
seen sarcastically congratulating Krishna.
