New Delhi: Samjwadi Party’s general secretary Mohan Singh has passed away at AIIMS on Sunday after a prolonged illness.
Singh, who was elected three times to the Lok Sabha from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, was suffering from cancer for the past many days.
In 2012, he was sacked by Mulayam Singh as he had challenged the SP`s state chief and Mulayam`s son Akhilesh`s statement criticising DP Yadav, and claimed that the BSP MLA from Badaun was clean. However, he later came back to the party.
Narendra Modi on his death tweeted, “Heard of Samajwadi Party leader Shri Mohan Singh`s demise. May his soul rest in peace. Condolences to his family.”
