Special first-aid kiosks at 23 Metro stations during Games

Come Commonwealth Games, 23 Metro stations in the national capital, especially those close to stadia, will have special first-aid kiosks to provide medical services to commuters.

New Delhi: Come Commonwealth Games, 23 Metro stations in the national capital, especially those close to stadia, will have special first-aid kiosks to provide medical
services to commuters.

The kiosks at the stations, which the DMRC expects will
have higher footfalls during the nearly fortnight-long
sporting extravaganza, will have four qualified `First Aiders`
to provide medical assistance to commuters.

Almost all the 12 Games venues have Metro connectivity
and the stations close to the stadia will have the `Special
First Aid kiosks`.

The DMRC has tied up with St John Ambulance Brigade for
the purpose. Besides first aid, other basic medical facilities
such as blood pressure and temperature check-up arrangements
and general medicines will also be provided, a DMRC spokesman
said.

"While the first-aid professionals will be from the St
John Ambulance Brigade, the medicines and other related
equipment will be provided by DMRC," he said.

Besides, the Customer Relation Associates (CRA) at all
Metro stations are being given detailed training on first-aid.

"Even in the Metro stations, where the `Special First
Aid kiosks` won`t be available, the Metro staff will be in a
position to help the commuters," he said.

The station staff has also been provided a detailed list
of the hospitals near their stations so that they can take the
commuters there in case of an emergency.

The `Special First Aid kiosks` will be available at
stations like Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan,
Qutub Minar, Kashmere Gate, Rithala, Patel Chowk, R K Ashram,

Vihar and Vishwavidyalaya.

While the JLN and Jangpura stations will be close to
Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Pragati Maidan and Central
Secretariat stations are near Major Dyan Chand National
Stadium.

While commuters and sports lovers can alight at
Indraprastha and reach Indira Gandhi Sports complex,
Tuglakabad station is close to Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range
and AIIMS station will be close to RK Tennis complex.

INA Station is close to Thyagraj Sports Complex while
