Special one-day session of Delhi Assembly to discuss women’s security today

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party chief and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has convened a special one-day session of Delhi Legislative Assembly to discuss women's security in the national capital.

The special session was earlier postponed due to the sudden death of former president APJ Abdul Kalam.

The Aam Aadmi Party government is likely to pass a resolution to set up a commission of inquiry to look into complaints of crime against women and cases in which appropriate action has not been taken.

Claiming that the recent case of the stalking, murder and sexual harassment of 19-year-old Meenakshi in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat area was a glaring example of the failure of the system, AAP MLAs are likely to criticise the Delhi Police during the day-long session.

The MLAs are also likely to discuss 185th report of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs, which has severely criticised the Delhi Police.
