New Delhi: While calling Odisha`s disaster management a success over Uttarakhand incident, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi on Sunday tweeted that a lot needs to be learnt from both the incidents.
"Disaster response has two models now. Uttarakhand for Failure.Orissa for Success! Both be made into case studies for lessons to be un/learnt, "she tweeted.
In June 2013, many had lost their lives in the floods of Uttarakhand. However, due to competence of disaster management team, major mishap in Odisha`s Philian cyclone has been averted.
"Within Orissa we have two measurables. One of 1999 and of 2013.Over 10,000 lives lost in 1999.And 10,000 saved in 2013?Power of prevention!, " she further added.
