Temperature stays above normal in Delhi, cold wave abates

The maximum and minimum temperatures in the national capital was above normal today as cold wave abated in the northern region.

temperatures in the national capital was above normal today as
cold wave abated in the northern region.

The maximum temperature here stood at 28.5 degrees Celsius- four notches above normal, while the minimum was 11.5 deg C, one degree above normal, the Met office said.
The day temperature is likely to remain warm here as the
Met office has forecast partly cloudy sky tomorrow with
possibilities of rain and thundershower.

While the weather was by and large warm in most parts of
north India, the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and
Himachal Pradesh reeled under intense chill due to icy winds.

In Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir, Kargil was the
coldest place with a low of minus 12 degrees Celsius while Leh
had a low of minus 10 deg C.

Srinagar recorded a low of 1.2 deg C against minus 0.6 deg
C yesterday. Pahalgam, a hill resort, and Kupwara in north
Kashmir settled at minus 1.6 deg C and minus 0.2 deg C.

Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti district, was the
coldest place in Himachal Pradesh with a night temperature of
minus 10.1 deg C. Kalpa in Kinnaur district had night
temperature of minus 1.5 deg C.

Cold conditions abated in many parts of Punjab and Haryana
as minimum temperature rose a few notches above normal in the region.
