New Delhi: Three persons were arrested here
for allegedly duping banks and people by "cloning" debit and
credit cards and even card swapping machines, police said on Saturday.

The arrested have been identified as Ravinder Sunekha,
Anil Kumar and Sanjay Kumar.

They were apprehended following investigations into
complaints from banks like Standard Chartered, ICICI and Kotak
Mahindra regarding transactions which were contested by their
customers on the ground that the same were not made by them.

Their interrogation led to the discovery of an entirely
new modus-operandi of "cloning" of swapping machines besides
the known method of cheating by way of "cloning" the cards, a
senior police official said.

Anil was a courier boy with a well-known courier company
who allegedly used to take out credit cards from parcels meant
for delivery to the customers and hand over the same to one
Shoiab for "cloning", police said.

Shoiab after preparing the cloned card used to hand over
the same to Ravinder and another person whose identity has so
far been established as Sharma. Ravinder has another associate
named Majid Khan, a former employee of a private bank.
