Two killed in accidents in Delhi

A driver and a mason were killed while two others received serious injuries in separate accidents that took place in outer Delhi, police said on Sunday.

killed while two others received serious injuries in separate
accidents that took place in outer Delhi, police said on Sunday.

Hari (40), a driver, was killed while Vijay (23) and
Phool Kumar (22) who were travelling with him were injured
when his tempo collided with a dumper in Alipur area at around
8 pm yesterday, they said.

The impact of the collision was so large that all the
three were trapped inside the badly mangled tempo, which the
police cut into two parts to pull them out. Hari died on the
spot.

The dumper driver fled from the spot leaving the
vehicle. A case has been registered and a hunt is on to nab
the absconding driver.

In another incident, 30-year-old Mahesh Tiwari was
killed when a speeding truck hit him from behind in Bawana
last night.

Tiwari, a mason, was walking towards his home when the
accident took place.

The truck driver was arrested and a case of rash and
negligent driving was registered against him, police said.
