Noida: Police have arrested two suspected terrorists from here, reports said on Friday.
There are, however, contradictory reports on why the supects have been arrested - some reports say the duo were planning attacks in the national capital, while others link them with the Bangalore and Burdwan blasts.
The duo have been identified as Rakatullah and Abdul Aziz. One of them is believed to be a Bangladeshi national.
Police believe the two are part of a "sleeper cell" and laptops seized from them have revealed sensitive information.
The arrests are reported to have been made on December 19, in a joint operation of the UP STF, West Bengal police and the Intelligence Bureau.
The arrests have come at a time when intelligence agencies have warned that terrorists could strike in major cities of the country. The New Year, however, passed off peacefully.
