Vyapam scam: AAP slams ''politically arrogant'' BJP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party`s arrogance has come to the fore after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh`s defence of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh Government over the mysterious Vyapam scam deaths.

Ghaziabad: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party`s arrogance has come to the fore after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh`s defence of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh Government over the mysterious Vyapam scam deaths.

AAP leader Dilip Pandey said the Centre has failed to value human life and supports corruption, atrocity and falsehood.

"Who can decide which death is to be linked with Vyapam scam and which is to be not? We thought that the Central Government is sensitive, at least understands the value of human life. Rajnath Singh has admitted that his party stands by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. At a time when the entire country is against corruption, you are supporting corruption, you are standing by atrocity and falsehood. This kind of irresponsible statement comes only out of political arrogance," Pandey said.

Pandey further said that AAP leader Kumar Vishwas has filed a case in the matter and added that justice will be delivered.

"We, therefore, believe that impartial investigation in this case is possible only if the process is conducted from outside the state of Madhya Pradesh...For that, a Supreme Court monitored SIT has to be established. We believe that justice is the backbone of democracy," he added.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition against Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav to ensure a fair inquiry into the Vyapam scam.

The matter is scheduled to be heard on July 9.

The Vyapam scam involved the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board or Vyapam, which holds the exams for positions like medical officers, constables, teachers and auditors for government departments.

The candidates allegedly bribed government officials to make it to the list of those who cleared the the test.
