Wanted criminal arrested in Delhi

A 48-year-old man, wanted in 39 cases including those of murder, dacoity and robbery, was arrested from Uttarakhand, police said on Wednesday.

arrested from Uttarakhand, police said on Wednesday.
Rizwan, who carried a reward of one lakh rupees, declared
by Delhi Police after a murder in Jamia Nagar in 2009, was
apprehended from Rudrapur on January 12, Ashok Chand, Deputy
Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.

He is accused of murdering one of his associates, Nausi,
in Jamia Nagar in 2009 due to a dispute over looted money.
Rizwan, who hails from UP`s Moradabad, has been evading
police since 2003. A .32 pistol and a 9 mm pistol along with
eight live cartridges and a stolen motor cycle were recovered
from him.

He entered the world of crime in 1987 in Moradabad and
was subsequently arrested.
He was first arrested by Delhi Police in 1999 in a case
of Arms Act. In 2003, he was again arrested in Delhi for
planning to commit dacoity in Pahar Ganj.

"On release on bail, he did not attend the court and was
declared a Proclaimed Offender. Since then he has been
absconding, and in the year 2009, due to dispute over looted
money, he along with Shaukat Pasa and other associates shot
dead Nausi," Chand said.
