Delhi: A group of unidentified men were caught on camera, thrashing badly an elderly person following an argument over parking dispute in the Sunlight area here on Saturday.
As per the video footage, which surfaced on Monday, shows the 65-year-old and his son being beaten up by a group of men with hockey sticks.
The dispute over the parking space finally ended in a tragic way. The victim, who is a retired officer from ministry of defense, suffered a fractured arm, while his son received head injury.
The incident was reported at around 10.30 am when Puranchandra Goswami asked his neighbour Keshav Gupta not to park his car close to his house as it would block their entry.
Goswami was standing outside his house with his son when Gupta parked his car in front of their house. Following an argument on the same lines, Goswami alleged that Gupta went inside his house and came back with a hockey stick. He then attacked Goswami and his son.
Meanwhile, following a complaint lodged by the victim, police have arrested the accused and have also registered a case against him.
Notably, the incident took place on February 14, the day when Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal took oath as the chief minister of Delhi.
