New Delhi: Water supply will be affected in several parts of Central, South and East Delhi tomorrow on account of repair and maintenance work on a major pipeline, Delhi Jal Board said today.

Repairs on a major pipeline distributing water from Wazirabad water treatment plant will affect water supply in areas including Chandni Chowk, Darya Ganj and Kashmeri Gate.

Supply of water will also be affected in Mori Gate and adjoining areas, Ramlila Ground and near-by localities. In South Delhi, areas including South Extension and Greater Kailash will be affected.

The DJB, which expressed regret for the inconvenience, advised people to store adequate water to meet requirements.

It, however, said that some of the affected localities would get the water supply at low pressure.

Meanwhile, some residents of Kailash Colony today complained of receiving contaminated water.

"For the past two weeks we have been receiving sewage like water in our homes. The water has a bad odour and is not suitable for any sort of consumption," said Deepak Kumar, a resident of the area.

The residents said the DJB officials visited the area to study the problem. DJB officials of the area could not be contacted.
