Who's Delhi's boss - Lt Governor or Arvind Kejriwal: SC likely to hear AAP govt's plea against HC order

New Delhi: The Supreme Court is likely to hear Aam Aadmi Party government's plea challenging the high court order holding that the Lieutenant Governor as the administrative head of the national capital territory.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led government has said that the HC order "undermined" the powers of the council of ministers given by the Constitution.

In a huge setback for the Kejriwal Government, the High Court had held that the LG is the administrative head of the National Capital Territory and the AAP Government's contention that he is bound to act on the advice of Council of Ministers was "without substance".

After the HC order, Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Tuesday set up a three-member panel to study irregularities in over 400 files of the Delhi government. CM Kejriwal called it "witch hunting".

Kejriwal has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of trying to destroy the capital through the Lt Governor.
