Why Shunglu panel did not inquire into Delhi govt works: BJP

Delhi BJP questioned as to why Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not ask the Shunglu Committee to inquire into the projects executed by the Delhi Government in connection with the Commonwealth Games.

New Delhi: Delhi BJP on Wednesday questioned as to
why Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not ask the Shunglu
Committee to inquire into the projects executed by the Delhi
Government in connection with the Commonwealth Games.

BJP Delhi unit chief Vijender Gupta alleged that the
Centre wants to save the Delhi Government and other
"scamsters" by holding only sacked Organising Committee chief
Suresh Kalmadi as responsible for irregularities.
"The question is that why the Prime Minister is not
instructing the Shunglu Committee for inquiry into the works
executed by Delhi Government of about 20 to 35,000 crore?" he
asked.

Gupta alleged that the organisers committed bungling
of thousands of crores from recruitment to the construction
works, purchase, hire purchase, broadcast, uniforms, tour and
allowances.
"Shunglu Committee has not looked into the sub-standard
work of Delhi Government. Hence, first of all inquiry should
be held in the bunglings committed by the Delhi Government and
the guilty persons be punished," he said.
