Woman found dead at residence in south Delhi

A 22-year-old woman was found dead at her in-laws' house in R K Puram area of south Delhi here.

New Delhi: A 22-year-old woman was found dead at her in-laws' house in R K Puram area of south Delhi here.

Police said that the deceased was identified as Konika, a manager at a public sector bank and wife of senior official of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

According to the police, she was found hanging from the ceiling fan inside her room when her husband and his family members checked on her.

However, Konika's parents have alleged that she was murdered by her in-laws for not fulfilling their dowry demand.

A senior police officer said that a case has been registered at R K Puram police station and they were interrogating her husband, a senior official in RBI, and his family to get some leads in the case.

Konika got married to the RBI official in December 2012 and were residing in RBI Colony, the officer said.

The couple have a one-year-old son.
