Women attacked with blades; police detain 20

Two young women were attacked with blades by motorcycle-borne men in Outer Delhi prompting police to conduct searches for the attackers today while 20 youths were detained for questioning.

New Delhi: Two young women were attacked with
blades by motorcycle-borne men in Outer Delhi prompting police
to conduct searches for the attackers today while 20 youths
were detained for questioning.

The women, aged around 18 years, were attacked in
Mongolpuri and Sultanpuri between 8:20 pm and 8:35 pm
yesterday, a senior police official said.

The official said they conducted raids to nab the
attackers. Around 20 people were detained for questioning but
no arrests have been made yet, the official said.
The attackers were on a motorcycle and targeted the
women separately before fleeing the spot.

One of the women suffered an injury on her neck while
the other suffered injuries on her face.
A case under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt) of
the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
