New Delhi: Pavitra Bharadwaj a 36-year old lab assistant in Delhi`s Ambedkar College attempted suicide by burning herself in front of Delhi Secretariat (CM’s office). She has been admitted to LNJP hospital with 90 percent burns.

As per Zee News exclusive report, two years ago she had alleged that the principal of the college GL Arora was harassing her sexually and repeatedly forcing her to have sexual relation with him. She had said that he was trying to seduce her again and again.

Apparently, when Pavitra refused and complained against the principal to higher college authority things went bad since then. The principal along with other members of the college board teamed up and blamed her for false allegations. Eventually she was terminated from her job.

Pavitra reportedly approached all concerned authorities for justice like the police, women cell, Chief Minister Sheila Dixit and even the Lieutenant Governor but apparently she was not entertained anywhere. Thus, out of frustration Pavitra took the horrific step of burning herself.

She narrated the whole matter to the magistrate in the hospital.
