New Delhi: Ousted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav on Sunday stressed on the need for complete statehood for Delhi, adding that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government should have the right to choose its own officials.
"The main thing is that Delhi should get full statehood. Like other states, even Delhi Government must have a right to choose officials of their choice. It's just been 100 days; we shouldn't pronounce our judgment so soon. My best wishes are with the Delhi Government," said Yadav.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had earlier accused the ruling dispensation at the Centre of attempting to cut down on the rights of the Delhi Government.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had earlier on Saturday said that full statehood rights cannot be given to the Delhi Government unless there is a general consensus in the country on the issue as it is the national capital.
