2-day workshop on drinking water & sanitation from Aug 26

With a view to accomplishing Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s mission "Swachh Bharat by 2019", the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will organise a two day exhibition-cum-workshop next week, highlighting innovative technologies.

"Swachh Bharat by 2019", the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will organise a two day exhibition-cum-workshop next week, highlighting innovative technologies.

The exhibition, "Innovation: A Workshop on Technology for Water Quality & Sanitation in Rural Areas", starting August 26, will demonstrate some of the latest, low cost and community based scientific technologies in these two fields especially for the rural areas.
Presentations will be made on innovations in water purification, eco-technologies for treatment of pollutant water, water disinfection and drinking water dispensing machines.

Separate presentations will be made in the sanitation sector and organic sanitary waste management and DRDO bio-toilets, the Ministry said.
Government sources said Rural Development Minister Nitin Gadkari, who has taken the initiative to organise the workshop, has written a letter to the Prime Minister requesting him to spare some time to visit the two-day exhibition.
