Samoon issued instructions to the officers concerned to dismantle all illegal structures located within 200m radius of the Dal and other lakes.

He said the government has pressed into service three truxor and some water master and harvester machines for de-weeding and cleaning the Dal Lake.

On resettlement of Dal dwellers at Rakh-i-Arth colony, Samoon said Rs 22.50 crore of the total Rs 402 crore grant has been spent on the development of the plots so far.

"Of the 500 plots demarcated, 79 have been allotted to Dal dwellers," he said.
