Nagpur: The National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) is organising a two-day international conference on bio energy from wastes, in their premises, beginning tomorrow.
The event--Green Chemistry Intervention-- has been sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Indian National Science Academy and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and others.
The conference will focus on need of a developing country like India with high population density and looking for food and energy security.
It will provide a platform for technocrats, academia and representatives from industries for discussing the challenges, issues, economic sustainability and viability of bio-energy production from wastes, a release from NEERI said.
Various national and international delegates will be participating in the conference organised by NEERI Director S R Wate and Scientist H Dr Tapal Chakrabarti, the release added.
