New Delhi: Despite regular reminders from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to schools to put up information related to the institution and its management on their respective websites, several schools have failed to meet the deadline. The CBSE had asked the defaulting schools to ensure that they put up information related to the school and the management on their website regularly updating it. The latest circular had cautioned schools to put up information on their website by July 17 failing which the “defaulters will not be able to register candidates for Board examinations and the responsibility would lie with the management". The circular was issued in order to make the school functioning more transparent. The website would include information like fee structure, school infrastructure, teachers’ salary details and management members. The schools also had to update their annual reports before September 15, the circular had stated. CBSE had earlier sent circulars to schools on October 18, 2010 and then on December 5, 2011. Meanwhile, a Board official reportedly said that strict action will be taken against schools that have not followed the instructions.
