Chandigarh: Punjab and Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Thursday said education is a "vital" element in shaping a kid's personality and imbibing good values and tradition.
A child when educated in the right manner has the power to change the present and the future. It's a vital element, Solanki said while inaugurating a government school building here.
The Governor said there was no better investment that the individuals, parents and nation can make than an investment in education of the highest possible quality.
He emphasized that the opening of a school not only open ups the path to knowledge for a child, but also opens up several opportunities limitless opportunities for the people of that area.
Solanki further said that such events of inauguration of a school are close to his heart and he never misses a chance to be present for the same.
Meanwhile, addressing the audience, Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament from Chandigarh, said that it is a proud moment to see the administration taking such initiatives in the field of education.
She further added that there is a need for a subject on social responsibility in the schools, which would help to enlighten the children on how to be a responsible citizen.
Kher also stressed that the efforts of the administration on the development of sports centre within the schools is highly appreciable.
