New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is inviting applications for admissions to the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes next year.

Educational qualification:
M.Phil programmes: Candidates for this programme must hold a master's degree from any recognised university.
Ph.D programmes: Candidates applying for this programme must hold a master's degree, or MPhil, in the relevant discipline.
Selection procedure:
The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance test conducted by the university at an all India level.
Those holding an MPhil degree or those candidates who have cleared NET or any other equivalent exam will be exempted from appearing in the entrance test.
