New Delhi: Students of Jamia Millia Islamia can fill their examination forms online from this year.

The university had last year launched the online admission process and received a record of 49,148 applications for over 6,000 seats.

"Every year, around 20,000 students appear for examinations of various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses. The process used to be manual earlier. However, from this year, we will do it online and new portal has been launched for the same," said Amir Afaque Ahmad Faizi, Controller of Examinations, Jamia.

While the subjective examination will continue to be done manually, the university plans to go ahead with online process for computation of results.

"Since, the examination mode is subjective we can't do that in online mode and hence the evaluation also has to be manual but rest of the process will be online," Faizi said.

The web portal has been worked upon by a team of university students only.

"The homework for the same was done by a student team and it is for network security issues we had to rope in professional help," he added.
