QnA

1) Please could you give information on preparation/coaching details for AIPMT test, required for my cousin, who is studying in Class VIII (CBSE) now. Please let me know when to attend coaching classes? Umesh Prabhu

A. It is recommended that if the student is in class VIII and aspires to be a medical professional, then he/she must get himself/herself accustomed with competitive exams at junior classes level e.g. SOF (Science Olympiad), iMO, iSO, JSTSE, NTSE etc.. so as to expose the child to competitive exams in India at an early age. Such exposures along with focused performance would put the child on track for success in upcoming medical entrance tests. More focus on Science and Math during classes VIII, IX and X would prepare a sound foundation for the child. It is recommended that the student continue education in CBSE board for greater similarity with medical entrance syllabus in coming years.
2) I am repeating the medical entrance exam i.e the MHTCET that has the NEET syllabus. I need guidance since I didn`t crack it last year. I`d be glad if you guide me through. Ria Mukherjee

A. Students repeating a year for entrance must focus excessively on class XI & XII syllabus and make Physics and Chemistry very strong. Repeated numerical practice is the key. Enormous practice of MCQs and Mock Tests post every chapter completion should help the student remain track for achieving success at upcoming medical entrance. Since Biology contributes 50% marks, a thorough revision, flash cards and MCQ guide practice is a must for class XI and XII syllabus. Since MHT-CET syllabus is on lines of NEET syllabus, it is recommended that the student must go through NCERT books thoroughly. In addition, a test series program at a national level medical coaching institute with a Crash Course for revision of content in the end should bring the required help for the student.
3) What kind of MCQs are expected? - Ameya

A. Single correct answer Multiple Choice Questions with negative marking shall be asked in upcoming AIPMT exam.
