Mumbai, Dec 03: The seemingly disturbed Amitabh Bachchan has turned down former US President Bill Clinton’s invitation to participate in the ‘Clinton Global Initiative’ after terror struck Mumbai.
Big B was to take part in the summit being held in Hong Kong, which is a meeting point of global leaders of different backgrounds across the world, for discussing different topics of energy. Bill Clinton had apparently invited Amitabh Bachchan to express his views on various issues, keeping in mind his popularity in South-East Asia.
In a statement issued to the media, Mr Bachchan said, “I am not going to leave my country in this troubled hour to travel to a foreign land to lend cause to a foreign initiative, patronized and guided by a foreigner, for his benefit. I need to see initiative here in my country.”
Big B further added, “I am not going to sing and dance at a time when my country and city bleeds. They can keep their initiative to themselves.”
