Mumbai, Dec 06: Neither Mumbaikars nor Bollywood bigwigs are in a mood to party on the New Year’s Eve at city's famous hotels this time. Along with other hotels, the ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton at Sahar and the Grand Central Sheraton at Lower Parel have cancelled their New Year celebration programmes as a mark of solidarity with Mumbai terror attack victims.
Katrina Kaif’s Rs 1 crore performance at JW Marriott has now been called off, both due to security concerns and also because of the city’s recent terror siege. The Renaissance hotel, where singer Mika and actor Neha Dhupia were to take to the stage, has also called off its celebrations.
Actress Priyanka Chopra, who had not given her nod to any of the year-end performances, despite being flooded with offers, had reportedly kept her options open till now, but the lady is now determined to keep it very quiet this year.
However, it’s not all over for Bipasha Basu’s big bang performance at Sahara Star hotel, but with the way the city is retaliating to the terror strikes, it seems that even this one’s going to end up being cancelled.
The whole city is in a dilemma, and the scene doesn’t seem to be picking up even for the New Year bash.
