Washington, Jan 05: Rapper Busta Rhymes was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault in New York City after a man said the recording star beat him up, police said on Thursday.
Rhymes, 34, whose real name is Trevor Smith, turned himself in at a police station in Lower Manhattan Wednesday night and later appeared in court, Lt. John Grimpel said.
The man, whose name was not released, told police Rhymes assaulted him outside a building in Lower Manhattan on December 26 in an argument over money, Grimpel said.
In August, Rhymes was arrested and charged with kicking a 19-year-old man in the head.
