Paris: Juventus doctors Bartolomeo Goitre and Luca Stefanini should face three-month bans for their mishandling of Fabio Cannavaro's treatment for a wasp sting, Italy's anti-doping chief said in a statement.
Cannavaro had previously been cleared of wrongdoing after failing a drugs test in August, two days after receiving an emergency cortisone injection for the sting.
However, Juve's doctors have been charged because of a mix-up over documentation and a tribunal will now decide whether to uphold the anti-doping chief's request for a ban.
