Kolkata: Defending champions Mohun Bagan thrashed Calcutta Port Trust 3-0 in a Calcutta Football League Premier Division encounter on Friday.
Jose Ramirez Barreto, who was out of action for dengue, returned and fired in the lead for Mohun Bagan with a brilliant goal in the 44th minute as they led 1-0 at halftime.
Man-of-the-match Kingshuk Debnath (75th) and Subair Muritala Ali (90th) struck the remaining two goals.
With 34 points from 13 matches, Mohun Bagan are now in the second spot, still two points shy of leaders East Bengal who have played 12 matches.
