Kolkata: Indian football captain Bhaichung
Bhutia may play with the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Kaka
among other soccer stars in an exhibitiion fund-raising match
in support of relief efforts for Haiti earthquake victims.
According to reports, the Indian senior-most pro has been
invited to play in the 'Ronaldo Zidane Friends' team which
will play an exhibition match.
Bhutia, it may be recalled, had played in a Goal 4 Africa
match at Bayern Munich's home ground of Allianz Arena with the
likes of Formula One great Michael Schumacher and German
captain Michael Ballack among others.
The team will clash against the All-Star team of Benfica
which will host the game at its Stadium of Light in Lisbon on
January 25.
Zidane and Ronaldo are goodwill ambassadors of the United
Nations Development Programme which has raised funds in the
past seven years for the awareness of global efforts to reduce
poverty.
But due to commitments to his Club Corinthians-FC on
January 24, Ronaldo has invited Brazilian teammate and friend
Kaka, who is also a UN goodwill ambassador for the World Food
Programme (WFP), to play in his place.
Bhutia could not be reached for reaction.
