Fulham name Dutchman Jol as new manager London: English Premier League soccer club Fulham named Martin Jol as their new manager on Tuesday, signing the Dutchman to an initial two-year deal with an option for another year.

Jol, who replaces Mark Hughes after the Welshman quit on Thursday, said he was excited about the challenge.

"I am very happy to join Fulham Football Club, a wonderful traditional club," said the former Tottenham Hotspur boss on Fulham's official website. "It is a club with good, solid foundations and a great fan base."

Jol, who managed Spurs from 2004 to 2007, stepped down as boss of Dutch club Ajax in December.
