London: Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has reflected on his sides opening day loss to Tottenham Hotspur as he looks forward to the game against Stoke City tonight.
"It was only the first game of the season and there are still lots of games to play," Benitez told the Reds' official website.
"We have to be calm and do our job. We know the Stoke game will be tough and difficult, but we have to create our chances and take them. These kind of games can change with one opportunity if you score."
Benitez was less than impressed with Liverpool's performance against Spurs, but hopes the home crowd with get behind the players to give them a lift.
"We know we have to play better and will be in front of our fans, and they know the only way we can improve is by helping to support the team," he continued.
Liverpool failed to score against the Potters in both games last year, and Benitez hopes his side can create the same quantity of chances whilst improving their finishing.
"We want to create the chances we did against Stoke last year and this time take them. To create 20 chances in a game has to be enough," he concluded.
