Mohun Bagan keen to bounce back

Mohun Bagan keen to bounce back Kolkata: Down after their shocking loss to last-placed Sporting Clube de Goa, Mohun Bagan will look to bounce back and improve their position when they face Shillong Lajong in their round 18 I-League encounter at Yuba Bharati Krirangan.

Mohun Bagan may miss the services of midfielder Rakesh Masih in the match, even as their coach Satyajit Chatterjee will get a full strength squad to pick from.

Masih has sustained a shoulder injury that might see him out of the match with Sheikh Azim taking his place.

After becoming the first club in the ongoing I-League to lose to Sporting Clube de Goa, Mohun Bagan is now placed fifth, seven points shy of leaders Dempo (32 points) on the standings.

Winless from last three matches, Mohun Bagan however will be a strong opposition at home against the upbeat Shillong club, who in their last match defeated Pune FC.

With the foreigner duo of Jose Ramirez Barreto and Edeh Chidi manning the forward line-up, it remains to be seen how Lajong's defence copes the challenge. Having come back from an injury, Chidi is in his best of form of late as the Nigerian was lackluster in Mohun Bagan's loss to bottom-placed Sporting Clube de Goa.

But his Brazilian striking partner disagreed and stood by the Nigerian and said: "He is coming back from injury but he is still very good."
