P K Banerjee to be honoured by Mohun Bagan Kolkata: Legendary footballer P K Banerjee will receive the 'Mohun Bagan Ratna' for services rendered to the Club as coach.

"He has played for different clubs. But the Ratna will be given to him for his capacity as club coach," a club official said.

Banerjee also coached the Indian side for the qualifying matches of the 1972 Munich Olympics. He went on to coach the Indian Football Team till 1986.

The Olympian made his name as a talented right-winger from the Eastern Railways during his two-decade long career.
