Salgaocar sign Yakubu, Seoka Panaji: Having survived relegation this year, Salgaocar have strengthened their squad with the signing of Ghanaian Yusif Yakubu from East Bengal and Japanese midfielder Ryuji Seoka from Mohun Bagan.

A Salgaocar official confirmed that the foreign duo have already signed pre-season agreements.

"The duo will provide the spark that is missing. We are confident that we can now match the best in the business to win titles in the coming season," the official said.

Following the signings, other foreigners in the club except for defender Luciano Saborosa, who has been assured of an enhanced contract, are likely to be released.

Salgaocar have also made the most of Mahindra United's disbandment, signing their five players, including two juniors.

The likes of promising striker Thoi Singh, stopper back Kali Alauddin and injury-returned Sukhwinder Singh have pledged their future to Salgaocar, the official said.

Air India defender Khelemba Singh, Syed Farid and Arnab Das Sharma are the others to join Salgaocar.
