Glasgow: Scotland kept their slim World Cup qualification hopes alive with a 2-0 home win over Macedonia on Saturday that strengthened their grip on second place in Group Nine.
In an entertaining game the Scots went ahead with a glancing header by Scott Brown after 56 minutes and secured the victory with a solo effort by James McFadden 10 minutes from time.
The win takes them to 10 points, three ahead of Macedonia, and 11 behind already-qualified Netherlands, who the Scots host on Wednesday.
