Shillong Lajong scrap past Vasco SC Shillong: Local favourites Shillong Lajong FC rallied to a 2-1 victory over Vasco SC to move to the top of the points table in the Second Division League final round played at the Polo Ground.

The win takes Lajong to 10 points from four matches, while Vasco slipped to second spot with 9 points from as many games.

The home side, which dominated the proceedings right from the kick-off opened the scoring at the stroke of half time when Seikhohao Tuboi volleyed in a Zenith Mashangva's cross.

Changing over, Vasco went all out in the attack. They were finally rewarded when Joy Ferrao tapped home in the 61st minute. Sachin Gawas' solo run down the right found Joy in the box, and he made no mistake.

But Vasco were soon reduced to ten men when goalkeeper Milagrio Medeira was flashed the red card for handling the ball outside the 18 yard box.

Lajong were quick to seize the opportunity and sealed the match through a header. Man of the match Aibor Khongee headed in Zenith's cross in the 86th minute much to the jubilation of the home crowd.

Lajong next play Royal Wahingdoh on May 7 while Vasco lock horns with Ar-Hima, the following day.
