Sporting Goa appeal to match commissioner Panaji: Sporting Clube de Goa today appealed to the match commissioner to reconsider the red card given by referee P Bhaskar to their defender Samananda Singh and yellow card to Junior Obagbemiro in their I-League match against Churchill Brothers on Saturday.

Sporting, who are looking to avoid relegation, intends to maintain their three-match winning streak and made a request to the match commissioner to revoke the cards given to their two players.

"We have made a request to the match commissioner to look at the video footage of the game and reconsider the decision of the referee. Whatever decision he takes we will abide by it," said Sporting coach Vishwas Goankar.

"But it can be clearly seen that Samananda did not do anything wrong in the penalty incident while going for the ball. Junior is a key player for us in our next match against Dempo who is also being booked by the referee for time wasting" Gaonkar said.
