Former Mizoram minister Zakhu Hlychho dies

Former Mizoram minister and veteran politician belonging to the minority Mara community Zakhu Hlychho on Wednesday died at the Aizawl Civil Hospital.

Aizawl: Former Mizoram minister and veteran politician belonging to the minority Mara community Zakhu Hlychho on Wednesday died at the Aizawl Civil Hospital.

73-year-old Hlychhho died of a massive stroke, hospital sources said.
He is survived by his wife Suipari and six children.

Born on December 15, 1943 at Maubawk village in southern most Saiha district, Hlychho entered politics in 1970 by joining the Mara Freedom Party.

He was elected to the state legislative assembly in 1993 and was inducted as Minister of State in Lal Thanhawla government.
